Watching Movies In Jail
Sponsored by Fairway Independent Mortgage Greg Hinkle.
It didn’t take Kathy long to find an arts movie theater in Helena Montana.
In Eugene we were huge fans of the Broadway Metro and the Bijou Arts Cinema.
These are theaters that get some of the lesser popular, deeper thinking films.
Kathy and I are huge movie fans.
In the Winter we go almost every Saturday night.
In fact, during the pandemic I called up the owner of the Broadway Metro and rented the entire theater so Kathy and I could get out of the house and see a movie.
The Myrna Loy is Helena’s version of this type of theater.
Loy, a movie star, was born in Helena.
The theater is the old jail.
It’s a beautiful building with bars still in the windows and pictures all over to remind you what this used to be.
There’s a large auditorium where films and live performances are shown and a smaller theater for just movies.
It was a nice day and we were the only two people in the theater, which is kind of fun.
We saw “Dumb Money” a really good film based on the true story of the stock takeover of GameStop.
Kathy and I tire of Hollywood productions and find places like the Myrna Loy are our escape and a place we can find something a little out of the usual.
