The Battle In My Head

The Battle In My Head

With all that’s going on in the world right now the battle for sanity is a battle of the mind.

As interest rates, gas prices, inflation and tensions in the world, rise, so does my apprehension.

The hard part for me is living with the stupid, political, decisions of our leaders and followers today and because we live as one big American Family, you and I are trapped in their folly.

Everyday I have to fight for peace in my soul. I remind myself that “It is good for me that I have been afflicted.” (Psalms 119:71)

There is this thing in me that borders on outrage, when it comes to being silenced. During the “period of fearfulness” we just experienced, I learned the importance of truth, freedom and standing up for what you believe in.

Kathy and I went to a movie “Don’t Worry Darling” that is worth renting when it comes out on DVD. I explain in the attached video why. It’s creepy how close this movie mirrors aspects of the “period of fearfulness.”

Every battle comes complete with a foe. I don’t consider my foe the people who disagree with me.

I think of them as “tools of affliction.”

My enemy and yours is the evil inclination of man…..Control, Division and Lust for Power.

Each day I must sit before the feet of my God and ask Him to remind me that things will be okay. I remind myself that He is the ultimate editor of our story and His plan doesn’t change based on who is in the White House or the dog house.

“This too shall pass” is a verse that rattles around inside my head. I look out at the tree’s and see leaves dyeing and yet, when things die is when they seem to be most beautiful. Perhaps honestly and truth are best discovered in the aftermath of death.

In the still of the morning I feel God’s breath on my neck as He whispers “Buddy I’ve got this, they know not what they do.”

God is famous for blinding people to achieve His will on this planet.

He will lift the blanket when the time is right and I believe we are getting very close.

So hunker down, speak up, get involved in the community around you and when the evil inclination comes knocking at the door, refuse to open yourself up to his foolishness and remind yourself who’s really in charge.
