Can’t Step Around This Mess

There are many ways of walking around an emergency rather than walking into it.
In the past it feels like we got away with more.
You could avoid politics, bad news and situations that were uncomfortable.
Is it just me, or does it seem like those situations are no longer avoidable?
Apathy is under attack and I for one think that is a good thing.
In the days we live in you are either hot or cold.
To be warm is to be worthless, you might as well be nothing.
People don’t like to get involved. They don’t want to offer an opinion if it means someone may not like them.
We’ve done that for decades and how is it working out for us as a culture?
Horrible.
I think one of the problems is a lack of connection to other people.
We don’t really know our neighbors or the people who live in our communities.
When was the last time you were vulnerable with someone other than a spouse?
The way to beat people down is to separate them and create a narrative that divides.
To disagree is human.
But we are being told by “them” that if you believe X,Y or Z you are the enemy.
It seems to me God is putting up barriers so His people can no longer walk around the problems we face but must step, face first, into the mess we’ve created.
When good and evil clash, there’s a storm.
Taking cover, hiding and pretending it’s not happening no longer works, as if it ever did.
Life is really hard and there is plenty to be weary of.
Kick discouragement to the curb.
Stand firm and push like Hell.
And remember, the storm is worse on the outer edges and calm in the middle.
Move forward, the eye is close at hand.
