But the Truth sets us free

The reasons I became a Journalist are simple: I love to tell people’s stories, I believe everyone should have their voice heard, and I hate to be lied to.

I think that’s why the whole public office thing didn’t work out for me.

The public says it wants the truth, but in reality, the truth hurts, and many are mesmerized by what sounds good, not what is true.

Politicians know this and tell us just enough to keep us from digging deeper.

It used to be that the media did the digging for us.

They uncovered scandals, posted lies on the front page of the paper, and people actually lost their jobs for hiding the truth.

The media is now simply a public relations machine for whatever side it decides to sleep with.

Usually, its lover is the left, but I’m seeing a bit of cheating with the right as well.

Fox is in the hen house, hook, line, and sinker.

We, the public, are also part of the problem.

We give room for what we like to call “little white lies,” which are just as bad as a true lie.

We’re willing to hedge a bit on the truth front if the message serves our purpose and titillates our ideology.

We are so used to the lies that we expect them from our elected leaders.

COVID was a breaking point.

Call it the last straw for many of us.

The ultimate lie that changed culture and eroded what little trust was left in institutions, the medical community, leaders, and those seedy politicians.

When it comes to the war we are not fighting in Iran, I read where the president is almost ready to claim victory.

I hope the war is coming to a close, but I wonder if this is fact or fiction?

We were told yesterday that this is not a war but a “Short Term Excursion”, please.

I’m sixty-six years old and have no more room for bullshit in my life.

You can convince a six-year-old this isn’t what it is, but most of us have been around too long to fall for that messaging.

What I want right now is honesty.

What the American people deserve is the truth, even when it’s not good.

Maybe it will all work out.

Maybe the WAR really is coming to a close.

But how do the leaders of our country, left and right, rebuild what has been destroyed, like our trust?

For God’s sake, be honest with us.

We can take it.

Stop the spin.

Just tell us the truth.
