Is It God's Will?

How Do We Know It’s God’s Will?

I hear a lot of people out there professing this or that is God’s Will.
I must ask myself, How can you be so sure?
The way most of us measure His Will against our own is whether it lines up with His word.
But there’s a problem with that theory: our interpretation of the word can be so different depending on where we are, how we were raised, and what trauma-colored glasses we are looking through.
It’s also very easy to listen to others rather than being in tune with that still small voice that comes from the Father.
Someone asked me the other day why I’m not saying as much about the war with Iran as I did right after it broke out.
I started to realize that no matter what you say, someone will misrepresent your meaning or purposely use it to discredit you or the people you want to believe.
I feel sorry for Jesus.
I know He’s the son of God and that He really doesn’t care how people misrepresent Him; it’s been happening since the day He set foot on this earth.
But people sure like to use His name to throw their cause behind.
He gets the final say, and the joke is on those of us who believe our interpretation is the right one.
He need not worry about what you and I think, He’s God.
He not only wrote Revelations, but He designed it, and no human gets to tell Him what the story means, how it ends, or whom He loves.
I am stunned by how much people assume, based on what someone else tells them from the pulpit, the public square, or the political platform.
The Word tells me, the only way to know God’s Will is to hang out with Him on a daily or hourly basis and use the best gifts He gave us, discernment and His Word.
It does not tell me to trust the powers of this earth.
We should stop leaning on our own understanding or the understanding of others and instead ask Him.
It’s easy to see God as a being who has favorites.
We must ask ourselves, is this battle His cause or someone else’s?
There are some out there who see this war as a sign that the world is coming to an end.
They believe the building of the third temple is near and use that to rationalize the current war.
Who knows, maybe they are right.
Others think that we are the third temple, the place where Jesus resides.
Either way, God gets to decide when that time comes or which is true.
To question leadership is not a bad thing.
We can question motives or outcomes without having wrath against those making the decision.
When we get into trouble is when we stop listening to what some call “their gut” and search for a voice that blends with our own chorus.
