We're Not A Production Line

Life Is Not About How Productive We Are

I’m conditioned to think the more I check off my to-do list, the more worthy I am.
Why am I like that?
Who lied to me, and why did I invest more than 60 years doing this?
The reasons aren’t as important as the revelation that it’s bullshit.
I believe in hard work, meritocracy, and think entitlement is the road to Hell.
But God didn’t make me to be productive.
He created me because there is something I’m designed to do with Him.
We are to be in relationship with Him and our fellow humans.
Our entire system is based on a false narrative.
This doesn’t mean we shouldn’t work hard and do our best.
It doesn’t mean we sit back and watch as others pick up the slack.
But it does mean my life shouldn’t be about the expectations of others.
I don’t need to prove anything to anyone, especially not to myself.
My audience is one, thee one.
How do I know how much is enough and when to pull back?
It’s not by listening to the noise or the bullies, it’s by listening to Him, period.
I see people in the national spotlight lording their power and flailing to keep power with the brokers.
The world is trampling the outliers for sharing the truth that the world hates.
People will turn on you.
I watch as the truthseekers become prey for the powerful, as those power mongers strive to hold onto what they think they have.
The only way to survive the onslaught is to keep our eyes on the words that come to us in the still moments with our Father.
We must each do our part, but also find time to listen more.
People will turn on us.
People will let us down.
The deeper you dive into what’s going on in our nation and in the world, the more hopeless you can become.
The truth messengers are under attack, which should tell you something.
Controllers hate to be controlled.
So shake it off and guard your soul from apathy.
Hang on to the small wins and don’t let up by excusing lies.
I was reading something this morning that talked about starting a fire by striking flint to create the spark.
Today, we have butane lighters, so we don’t have to work at it.
But in the old days, the first strike rarely produced fire.
You had to strike, time after time, before finding success.
Some say the world is too easy, that we are spoiled and think everything must happen overnight.
I think I would agree.
I see so many positive things happening right now, I need to focus on that.
We were not called to be successful but to be faithful, and that means pleasing only the great I Am.
