Oregon, Time To Make A Plan

Okay, we knew the Democrats were going to pass a nearly $6 billion tax increase, so what can you do about it now?
The voters can repeal legislation that is not an emergency.
So there is that option.
Gather signatures and take it to a vote of the people.
If as many people as polled show up at the polls, you could kill it.
But there’s more.
You make a list of everyone who voted for the tax, and next time they’re up for re-election, find someone to run against them and do what any good boss does when an employee doesn’t listen: you fire them.
Warning:
Lawmakers know we have busy lives and forget the past pretty quickly.
Each month, as you and your friends struggle to make ends meet, remind yourself why.
As more businesses leave Oregon over the doubled payroll tax, don’t forget who chased them off.
My friends, the most important thing you can do is stay involved, and when it’s time to vote, do NOT throw up your hands and say things like “until we get rid of vote by mail, things will never change.” Or another one I hear a lot is “Oregon is too blue, we’ll never win.” And my favorite, “the system is rigged, I give up.”
Wake up, my friends, you are Oregonians.
My family and many of yours risked everything to come here on a covered wagon.
Others, the newcomers, equally belong here and took a big chance to leave what was for what might be in Oregon.
But there’s this very involved group that came here from other places, places where their votes ruined their former homes, so they came to Oregon and voted for the same bad policies that destroyed their former states. They are now Oregonians, and they have their right to vote as they wish, but perhaps the way to do things is to come to this place and assimilate. But it’s too late for that, it’s time for a takeback.
If everyone who is registered to vote voted, the state would be much more balanced.
I think figure shows in the last presidential election close to 100k Republicans didn’t vote; those numbers would have made a huge difference. (Those numbers may not be right on, but close.)
Non-affiliated voters, you have more people registered like you than Democrats have, and more than the Republican rolls show. You are the powerhouse in Oregon, and yet, many of you don’t vote.
You are part of the solution. So, get involved.
The Democrats have cheated to get to the supermajority they have in the legislature.
Union money funds their party, and if you dig around, you will find the unions run the executive branch and hold the purse to many Democrat lawmakers.
‘Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want big corporations running our state either, but it’s interesting how the Democrats downplay the involvement of union money.
Oh, and big pharma gives most of our legislators money, and the governor for sure.
Just stick that in your back pocket and think about the lockdown….I digress.
So, yes, mail-in elections…gotta go at some point.
But the public is ready for that fight.
Redistricting needs to be done by an independent group and done fairly; that would have a huge impact on the hue of Oregon. (red-blue-purple)
But guys, those steps take time, and you have to convince the public it’s the right thing to do.
You don’t have that kind of time to get this done.
Stop with the excuses and remember what Tina Kotek and her minions did today.
They didn’t listen to the 87% of you who said no to her tax idea.
They ignored you.
They didn’t listen to your overwhelming testimony.
And your governor wasn’t even around to listen as she was awahl from the entire process.
When the next election comes, remember how you feel right now and vote accordingly.
They’re counting on history that says you’ll forget…will you?
