It's Easy To Get Off Track

It’s Easy To Get Off Track

Is it me or do you feel overwhelmed by what is going on in the world right now?

From a worldly point of view there’s not a lot of hope when you live in inconsistencies, lies and deceit.

But maybe my vision is clouded by what’s wrong and I’m having trouble trusting that God has a plan in all of this?

I was doing well, trusting God and leaning on Him until a series of tests arrived in my world that got me off track.

When I was a kid I had an electric train set.

The train ran around and around the track but if it ran too fast for too long and I didn’t pay attention the train would come off the track.

The derailment usually started with the back set of moveable wheels on the becoming unstable and falling off first.

These wheels helped steer the train but if left unattended eventually the train would derail.

I feel like God is telling me those back wheels are coming off and it’s time to slow the train and stop paying as much attention to the direction and listen more carefully to the engineer before my train derails.

I do believe God is the master conductor and nothing goes past Grand Central without His okay, not necessarily His approval.

It’s hard to trust when your locomotive is stuck on the track waiting for a line to clear so you can move freely again.

I feel part of this change is paying more attention to who the conductor lets on the train. Everyone is not meant to ride the same line and if let on is only there to try to speed up the derailment process.

So Rick, who do you trust? Is this about your own understanding and what you can make happen or can you step out of the engine, hand the controls over to the one who see’s the destination, and simply smile and go along for the ride?

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."

Proverbs 3:5-6
