Burdens Matter, Don't Ignore Them

Burdens Make Life Beautiful?

I just read this cool fable about how when God first created birds, they had no wings.
They could sing and look beautiful, but could not soar through the air.
So God asked the birds if they’d like Him to add wings, but warned that the very thing that lifted them would, at first, be a burden.
That whole idea blows my mind.
How much time do we spend looking for relief from our burdens when, in fact, we should look at them as a gift?
What if God is standing there saying, “Rick, the place you want to be is waiting for you if only you will joyfully accept the burdens it takes to get there?”
We tend to cower and shy away from trouble.
The most successful people can push into it without fear.
Look at it this way, God means for the tasks He gives us to be our helpers.
If we refuse to bend to the burden and take it with the idea that it will bring new growth, we will never change.
I do not want to be the same Rick Dancer today that I was yesterday.
Continual growth is a result of taking on the burdens God gives us.
We should also remember to take on only burdens given from the Father, not those handed to us by people around us.
How do you know the difference?
I’m still working on that.
I think the keys are spending time with Him, not getting wrapped up in the drama of others, and most importantly, being still and knowing that only He is God.
