We Mostly Want The Same Thing
On the long drive home from Boise, Idaho, Kathy and I listened to a podcast that got our hopes up that one day, Conservatives and Liberals might join forces to fight the real enemy.
Ana Kasparian has her podcast but went on as a guest, somewhat reluctantly, with Tucker Carlson.
She explains in the interview why, but that’s not the point of what I’m writing.
She was a die-hard when it came to BLM and homelessness, but in doing more research understands both were a total flop and hurt more than they helped.
She agrees’s the media, failing to question, is a big part of the problem.
The more I talk with people, the more I listen to those who know, not a bunch of pantywaste, paid propagandists, I’m convinced most Americans want the same thing….The Truth.
We are tired of being lied to, whether it’s Obama, Biden, Bush, or Trump; what we want is the facts.
I may not support abortion, and you do, okay, so what?
It’s a free country, and as long as I don’t have to pay for abortion, you do you, and I’ll do me.
Most of us don’t care who you love or whether you identify as male or female, but don’t shove it down our throats.
These issues are distractions and the controllers of the message know that.
There are far bigger issues.
Why does America think it’s the keeper of peace around the globe?
We can’t even police our own country, what the hell are we doing trying to tell others what to do?
The more I learn, the more I see how our country meddles in the management of those around us.
I don’t think most Americans would approve of this if they only knew about it.
A few folks were picking on me the other day for saying I get a lot of my information from podcasts.
They scoffed at me.
They only listen to the nightly news and fail to understand that true researchers look and listen to all kinds of information to reach a verdict.
Their comments are so ignorant and mindless, I’m befuddled by their stupidity.
In the interview, Kasparian said we need to start talking again, all of us.
When she started sharing her true concerns about BLM and how inhumane our current policies around homelessness and drug addiction are, her former supporters came after her.
Here’s the deal: we need to start talking again, really listening to each other.
It’s what the keepers of the castle fear most.
We are not that far apart.
They want us to think there’s an ocean between us when it’s just a small, manageable stream.
Don’t go into a conversation with the notion of changing the other person; allow yourself to change, not what you believe necessarily, but your attitude about the other side.
I’m convinced we’re being duped.
Both parties suck.
They don’t care about America; they lust for power and control, and the more we fight, the more gratification comes their way.
I’m not saying this is going to happen overnight.
When asked what she thinks of her critics, Kasparian gave the response that made me chuckle, the same one I give you right now.
“I don’t give a F-ck.”
