It’s Too Soon

I hear cries, mostly from the left, for unification but the actions of these well-meaning folks are quite the opposite.
No one likes confrontation but without it we are stuck on the same failing merry-go-round ride.
A majority of people voted in November to take America in a new direction. I know, some of you still deny the results….I seem to remember being criticized for doing the same thing in 2020….I digress.
We elected leaders who would challenge the status quo and to use an old term, “Drain the Swamp.”
We don’t think the courts should be used as a political tool, we believe it is our right to own guns and that guns only kill when there is a human there to pull the trigger.
We seem to have a different view of right and wrong and we understand racism is something that see’s no color.
We believe in fairness and working hard and understand if you don’t you get no where.
We understand giving a hand up to folks in need is something God demands but there also needs to be responsibility built into such a system.
There is no free ride and communities need standards that include fighting crime and making our cities safe again.
We believe speech has to be free or we lose everything.
You can’t hide behind “hate speech” because defining free speech that way is just another way of censorship.
We are divided because for too long one side of the debate has owned the conversation. I get it, it’s hard to share now that the right has found it’s voice but it’s time.
I honestly don’t think we are as divided as some would like us to think but there is a dark line that that separates us but will fade as people understand the conversation has opened up and everyone gets a say.
But from the comments on my page and what you see, it’s too soon.
New era’s don’t just happen they must be fought for and in this case it means opening the conversation to all and a huge can of worms.
We all have to understand our new roles.
That takes time.
We’ll get there.
