What a Disappointment

My ideological side came out last night as I watched the President’s speech to the nation.
I was hoping to hear the war was won or that we were pulling out.
Instead, what I heard was that we were going to send Iran and its people back to the Stone Age.
We sound like a bully throwing its weight around.
Is that the goal of this war? If it is, I’m even more opposed to it than I was the day before.
The Iranian leadership is awful, but do the people of that country really deserve to be destroyed, to be sent back to the Stone Age?
This is where some of you climb all over me because you think I’m against Trump and what he’s doing, when in fact what I’m against is the way he is handling this war. Period.
He was doing such a great job, in my opinion, when he stuck to his guns.
He pushed where others would not.
He got things done.
But his promise as the “Peace President”, not starting a war in the Middle East, and his magnificent negotiation skills, have disappeared.
When he says he’s going to obliterate Iran, I cringe.
These are human beings with bad leaders.
Many there obviously disagree with their government, as seen in the protests a few months ago.
It’s easy to see Iran as the great satan.
But do we look much better?
I know the storyline of 47 years and all the bad things they’ve done to us, but do two wrongs make a right?
Is that the goal of this war to obliterate a people?
Most Americans do not support this war.
We don’t obliterate, it’s not in our DNA.
Let’s bring the discussion back to American soil.
The worst thing for our country is if the Democrats take back the House and Senate in the upcoming midterms.
Look at all the headway Trump has made to crush DEI, to deregulate a party that thrives on authoritarianism and rules.
He brought the economy back; some of you disagree, that’s fine.
He was doing everything he said he was going to do, until this.
The President who campaigned on no wars started one.
Some of you are willing to look the other way.
Some say this is God’s will.
Perhaps God is allowing this for a different reason, and it may end up obliterating the United States?
Truth never covers a lie; exposure will happen.
President Trump’s approval rating, after last night’s speech, according to CNN, is at 31%.
That’s terrible.
The Democrats don’t have to work at taking back control of this country; we’re giving it to them on a silver platter.
I learn from your comments, so please let me know what you think, but can we be civil in our disagreement?
Can we discuss without obliterating each other?
Obliteration doesn’t need to be the new America.
