Prepare For What’s To Come

I remember when the letter of the law used to mean something.

There was respect for the rules, and breaking them had a cost.

We live in sketchy times.

Leaders create their own rules; lawlessness, even when caught, means nothing.

They actually use the law to break it.

If you and I did the same thing, we’d be locked up.

But not them.

I’m reading through the 24th chapter of Matthew, and a few things jump out at me.

Verses 11 and 12 warn of false prophets coming to lead us astray.

It also talks about an increase in lawlessness, and the result of that is that the love of many will become cold.

Welcome to 2025.

I heard a statistic yesterday that since 1973, 63 million babies have been aborted in the United States, 63 million.

Millions of children are abducted each year and sold into the sex trafficking trade.

God cares deeply about our precious children.

Jesus warns that you’d be better off dead than to mistreat one of his little ones.

As a country, we are failing our kids, and unfortunately, there is a cost.

We are told to be wise as serpents and to understand that many will be lured by false teachers, liars, and cheaters.

We have city councils declaring a state of emergency over law enforcement, enforcing the immigration laws.

Oregon has a governor, tickled by her perceived power, as she condemns the idea of authoritarian kings running our country, but at the same time uses her queenly status to usurp the will of the people in her state.

She, and others like her, preach the destruction of democracy when they are the ones steering the ship into an iceberg.

How we do things is as important as what we do.

Righteousness, when ignored, will destroy the haughty.

We are told to be prepared for what’s to come.

No one goes looking for trouble.

But too many of us run from it when it catches up to us.

Instead of running from trouble, what if you and I ran into it?

Oregonians are learning, diving in can bring change.

Calling out the BS, even in your own little circle, is running into trouble.

Don’t be one of the maidens who failed to fill her lamp with oil before the visit from the bridegroom.

We must be prepared for what’s to come.
