Unlocking The Gate 

Someone asked me on a podcast last night if I really think new leaders are enough to change our cultural degradation.

I had to pause for a minute because my lifelong answer, yes, sat there on my tongue, unwilling to come out.

I wanted to say yes.

I’ve always been optimistic that when people get involved, research and listen, change can happen.

When I flipped my opinion about the current administration shortly after we started the war with Iran, my naivety was shattered.

My answer was no.

It’s as if God wiped the sleep from my eyes.

I heard an interview with a Catholic priest who shed light on the darkness of the spiritual world.

It was a glimpse you can’t unsee.

My spiritual vision changed to 20/20, and I can’t go back.

For too long, we have placed too much trust in our leaders.

They are not necessarily bad people; they are like you and me, fallible humans.

But power is a destroyer.

It’s a temptation that only the strongest men and women can control.

And recently, most are failing miserably. 

It’s easy to see it in those whose ideology you disagree with.

We don’t see it in those we agree with until God opens our eyes.

I look at that moment as a revelation, a reality check, not a bad thing at all.

In fact, a much-needed reevaluation. 

We must stay involved, vote, research, and care…..but perhaps we also need to care a little less about what our leaders are doing and instead look to our creator for that 20/20 vision that is bound to make us uncomfortable, unpopular, and bring the wrath of Hell upon us. 

Our friends, family, and strangers will hate us as they hated Jesus.

It’s nothing to fear, Christ warned us of this day.

God loves us and puts up with a lot from His creation.

But when we devolve into a near-collapse, history shows, He will step in. 

I wonder if we are not close.

I don’t mean end times, although who really knows.

If we could see into the spiritual realm, my guess is we’d see a truly violent battle.

We must remind ourselves that this is not a battle between you and me.

This is a battle between the principalities and powers of darkness and our Maker.

No man is going to save us from that, only God.
