Toughen Up America, Get On It, Oregon

Steel is first tested for strength before it’s ever used to build a ship or a bridge.
God doesn’t create us to be delicate like glass, easily broken when life begins to maul us.
We are not dunes of sand, tossed and turned with each gust of wind that blows.
I read this this morning in a book called Streams in the Desert.
Our maker wants us to be tough as steel so that when life forces try to crush us, we can hold up and withstand anything that comes our way.
“To make us such, He must bring us into His testing room of suffering.”
I believe that we have passed the test and can withstand much more than we think.
We’ve watched culture turn crazy and right become wrong, and here we are still.
The messengers of darkness gang up on us, and yet we don’t break or crumble.
All over this great nation of ours, we see the last-ditch effort of desperation as some leaders grasp to protect what arrogance they have left to hang onto.
In my former home state of Oregon, the governor knows more than 80% of the people don’t agree with her latest budget proposal, and yet she fights to shove it down the throats of the people she is elected to represent.
But Oregonians are fighting back.
Phones at the capital are ringing, pressure is put on both parties to vote this budget down.
Emails are pouring into the inboxes of elected leaders, saying Don’t do it, or you will not be elected again.
People are waking up.
They are discovering their strength and ability to stand against tyranny.
Tonight on our Get Real With Rick Dancer podcast at 4 pm Oregon time, two representatives from Oregon, Christine Drazan and Shelly Boshart Davis, will join us to explain what’s ahead for the special session that starts Friday and ends Saturday.
Part of preparing oneself and strengthening that steel resolve is educating yourself.
We were each called to a moment such as this.
Prepared and strengthened to stand up for our neighbors.
