This Is America Speak Up

Updated: 22 hours ago

This Is America, You Are Allowed Your Own Opinion!

No one said people are going to understand your take on the things you see in this life, and that’s okay.

It’s more than acceptable, it’s amazing.

I’m a peculiar person, never quite fitting in.

Oh, when I was on the news, people thought I was something I wasn’t, but that’s because I couldn’t share my real opinions.

Opinions are not supposed to be given out when you are presenting information as a journalist.

But when I walked out the doors of KEZI in 2008, a new man emerged, and that bugs the Hell out of some of you.

You can’t get over the fact that I’m no longer that guy.

I offer opinions and, in doing so, open people's minds by asking questions that challenge those who disagree with me.

Yesterday, Kathy and I hiked ten miles to a pair of waterfalls outside the town of Hamilton, Montana.

It was just the two of us, God and nature.

I wonder if the reason, or one of the reasons, we are so attracted to creation is its authenticity?

Humanity can be so fickle, fake, and frustrating.

I got back home, read through my latest post’s comment section, and there amongst many comments of agreement or interest were the voices of the opinion haters coming after me.

I think my words scare them.

They see how much some of you relate to them and try to discredit me.

I used to care more about being fair, equal, or more middle-of-the-road.

When I spend days in the wilderness and see how rough and rugged the landscape is, it gives me the courage to dig deeper.

I would encourage you to do the same.

Now is not the time to be fearful and pull back.

This is America, and we owe it to ourselves, our neighbors, and our country to speak the truth.
