The Line Was Crossed

Somewhere, the line between expression and antagonism blurred into the sea of ridiculous.
When Portland, Oregon, first adopted the mantra “Keep Portland Weird,” it was cool.
It spoke of self-expression, free spirits, and open-mindedness.
But that was a long time ago.
I would say that since the BLM riots, Portland, and places like it, degraded from cool to druel.
They drifted from free expression to oppressing anyone who disagrees with them, and that is not cool, it’s not even weird, it’s deadly.
I bring this up because outside the State of the Union address Tuesday night, some of those former weirdo’s from Portland showed up in frog costumes to poke fun at the president.
Poke all you want, but who takes these people seriously? No one.
The nation laughs at you.
You think you’re making a point when you’re simply showing your foolishness.
They are probably not even Oregonians, but paid Antifa degenerates, not making change or voicing alternate opinions.
Their job is to create disunity, division, and chaos.
They don’t care about Oregon.
Then you have a couple of Oregon congressional “leaders” out trying to legitimize these people.
They are so blind and think what they are doing is being cool and making change.
Most of us, who have refused to drink the ignorance punch, see them for what they are: fools.
I understand people who hate Trump are frustrated.
I get it, I felt that through the Obama and the Biden years.
You hold your breath, work to make a change, and vote in a better leader.
You don’t bring people to your side of the debate by calling names, belittling, lying about them, or dressing up in a frog costume.
I see where the protesters are planning events all week in places like Eugene and Springfield.
I’m glad they have the ability to stand for what they believe in.
It’s good that the censorship from the last administration is not being allowed by this one.
But don’t block streets, force businesses to close, and for godsake don’t damage federal property that the rest of us have to pay to fix.
So many of my friends who used to be Democrats were truly pissed off a few weeks ago when protesters did what I just mentioned.
They don’t support you or your stupidity.
Your tactics are backfiring.
Do you care?
You’re supposed to be convincing us you are on the right side of history.
You’re supposed to be working for change and opening our minds to the truth as you see it.
As you protest, please remember that respect is fundamental to a movement.
If you want people to see your side, don’t forget that.
If you want to create chaos, we’re watching, and the midterms are not far away.
