The Cost of Adventure

Adventure Will Cost You

It’s easy to say we want more adventure in our lives.
The problem seems to be, opening ourselves up to it.
Culture lures us into a false sense of adventure with video games and movies and sex.
That’s not adventure, that’s a rush or a moment.
Adventure means you’ll risk it all and change everything.
Abraham was living a good life. (The guy in the Bible)
He had every thing he wanted.
When God tapped on Abraham’s shoulder, and Abraham said yes, his whole world changed.
Moses didn’t need to follow the call. He too had a good life but his soul heard the call of his creator and he led Gods people to the promised land. (he didn’t actually get to go in because of a big error)
What is God speaking to you right now?
Is He telling you to get more comfortable?
Is He whispering conformity into your life?
Hell no.
What are you afraid of?
Think you’re gonna make a mistake?
I can settle that for you, you will.
Lots of people live safe, unsatisfactory lives.
They settle for easy and ignore the call to adventure.
Jordan Peterson says it’s better to have a bad plan than it is to have no plan.
Bad plans can be fixed.
No plan simply paralyzes the vision.
Are you bored enough to risk it all?
Come on, it’s not gonna kill you but it will change you.
Side Bar: The reason Moses didn’t get to go into the promise land has to do with tyrannical behavior. God told Moses to speak to the rock and the rocks would produce water. Instead, Moses used his rod (a sign of power) and struck the rocks.
The rocks produced water but God blesses leaders who invite cooperation not those who force it. This about the last four years and think about now.
Interesting isn’t it.
