The Alternate Reality

Just a few short weeks ago, people on the right were praising my posts, applauding free speech, and condemning the left for not asking enough questions.

SCREECH

President Trump lied, yes, he lied several times, and some of us want to know why.

We supported the president up until this moment.

And what is he doing now?

The same thing he’s doing to Iran, trying to obliterate us, with some of your help, to silence the questions.

Why?

Usually, people react this way when they have something to hide, and you know it.

How did he lie?

He campaigned on no new wars.

He called himself the peace president, and until Venezuela, he was.

The polls are horrible, and he knows it.

The midterms are probably lost, and if you don’t see that, you aren’t paying attention.

We’re headed back to the Democrats controlling the government, and it didn’t have to be this way.

So rather than come clean, Trump and his supporters dig an even deeper hole.

Now he’s on the attack of those questioning, calling out his mistakes, and the “truth-loving right” is telling us to shut up and trust the president.

SCREECH

These are the same people who poked at the liberals for not questioning Joe Biden, Anthony Fauci, and a whole host of other liars.

I was with you.

It wasn’t a party thing for me; it was a truth matters thing.

But it’s different when we question Trump?

You would think a good conservative might disagree, support, and welcome your right to question authority, even Donald’s.

Remember how we said we question everything to keep the leadership in line?

Less government, more accountability, and seek the truth and speak it, no matter what, remember that?

SCREECH

Trump has lowered himself to making fun of folks in the media who once campaigned for him but now have valid questions about his stance on Iran.

Some of you are joining in the chorus rather than listening to the notes carefully to see if someone is singing off-key.

Those who claim to follow Christ and seek “God’s Will” seem to have no problem with the President of the United States trying to “Obliterate” his critics.

Seems destroying those you disagree with or that disagree with you is a viable and acceptable solution for those who disagree.

Can you guys point that out in scripture for me? I’m having a hard time finding it in my Bible?

We called Biden an authoritarian because he was, but isn’t Trump acting the same way?

But it’s okay when it’s him?

SCREECH

Many spoke of how the Truth sets us free, but quietly accept the chains that bind when it’s for the “right cause.”

None of us who criticize the president believes we have all the answers or that we are 100% on target.

But we smell a rat, a big stinky rat, and you tell us what we smell is something beautiful and to just shut up and get with the program.

No.

We watched what happened when the liberals did the same thing.

We remember what you said when they did it, but you somehow overlook it when it’s your guy.

SCREECH

We are not anti-Trump or any of the other names you call us to make yourself feel better.

We are people who would still not vote for Kamala, cringe at the thought of Biden, and want to make America great again.

But we see problems, big problems with the current plan, and refuse to “suck-up” or “shut up” because we think that will do the opposite of what needs to be done.

You and I can disagree on all of this; that’s okay.

What is not okay is the techniques our president uses to try to silence not his opposition but his critics.

There is a difference.

We are not the enemy.

Perhaps we need to all spend more time figuring out who that is rather than eating our own?

But we won’t, that takes work and a willingness to be wrong or at least corrected.

SCREECH

If our forefathers had gotten the same advice you are giving us today, there would have been no revolution.

Hate us, mock us, “obliterate” us if you must, but remember, history repeats itself.

Think of all those leaders who pushed and got no pushback.

What did those outcomes look like?

Yeah, you know what I’m talking about.
