Save America Act

It’s insane that we live in a country that doesn’t require an ID to vote.
It’s crazy that we must show Identification to buy alcohol, cigarettes, and many other things, but don’t require ID to vote in an election.
I read the arguments for and against.
Opponents site passage of this bill will make it more difficult for women or trans people when they’ve changed their names.
The small burden that is put on these folks is well worth the cost if it means making an election safer.
When women marry or divorce, name change is a headache, I’m sure, but it’s been part of the process, and no one complained before.
This sounds like a lame excuse if you ask me.
As though opponents have little to grasp and are finding reasons to be against it.
I notice opponents are not talking as much about how they think ID is unfair to voters of color.
That argument backfired, and for good reason, it’s a lie.
In Montana, we must show Identification every time we vote.
When we moved here from Oregon, it was a pleasant surprise to, one show up at an actual polling place, but two, to have someone ask for your identification to cast a ballot.
Why would we as a country do everything we can to ensure safer, more accurate elections?
The only answer I can come up with is so people can cheat.
Vote-by-mail states know voter ID is the beginning of the end of this failed system, and they are scared.
For decades, the Democrats have pushed the idea that everyone needs to vote.
I’m all about community involvement and giving voice to the people, but if people don’t want to vote, I don’t want them to.
If they don’t care about the process or refuse to educate themselves on the issues, I don’t want them casting a ballot.
It’s not our job to get people to the polls.
It’s the job of our country to make sure people experience a fair, safe, and balanced election.
The cheating needs to stop.
You must ask yourself, why wouldn’t people want us to do everything we can to make sure only eligible, legal citizens are voting?
Demanding identification is not a hardship its the cost of having your voice heard.
To make identification an obstacle is almost laughable.
If someone really wants to vote, they can get an ID, and they know it.
I think it’s something that must be done if we are to restore faith and trust in the system.
The cheating has to stop.
