Oregon, You Are In Trouble.
I just read a report by an economist who studies Oregon.
I encourage you to take a look; it’s an easy read, but if you love the state, it’s also required reading.
POV, the reason Oregon is in the mess it is in is cheating.
For decades, Democrats have used “redistricting” to water down the more conservative voters by moving lines and putting places like Madras in the same district as Portland. I’m not kidding.
Democrats are blasting Republicans in Texas for trying to redistrict. I tend to agree with them, I don’t like gerrymandering. But for the Democrats nationally to all of a sudden be all bent out of shape over gerrymandering is a joke. The Democrats have been doing it for decades. In Oregon, the practice has destroyed fairness.
There are many other reasons besides gerrymandering. My POV is that this was planned decades ago, the public doesn’t really understand redistricting, and now the balance is gone.
Four of Oregon’s six congressional districts, somehow, sneak into the Portland area.
Lawmakers know that more liberal voters live in that area, and if you want to take over a state, manipulating the system is the best way to do it.
According to the article, Oregon is in big trouble.
I think the unions play a significant role in that.
They’ve taken over the executive branch of Oregon’s government, not to bring better education to the state, which has failed, but to be in power, period.

It breaks my heart to see my home state, a place I love, but had to leave, being destroyed by power-hungry politicians and lazy legislators.
Look how much different America is right now since electing a businessman to the presidency.
Vic Atiyeh was the last businessman elected to run Oregon, and the state has been spiraling downward ever since.
Change needs to happen.
Oregon needs real leaders, not followers, with a career path to the governor’s mansion.
Oregon needs an electorate wake-up call.
Voters are choosing based on party, not preparedness for leadership.
Oregon needs ideas, not career politicians who know just one way to do things, and that’s to throw money at it.
Oregon needs to get unions and their money out of the capital, now.
The economist in the article I am talking about says some say Oregon needs to get to rock bottom before change can happen.
He goes on to say, unfortunately, that the bottom is still lower than you are right now.
My POV is, if it gets much worse, you may not have an Oregon to save.
Oregon’s opponents will lash out at me and this report because their ignorance keeps them in control, and their blindness drives the nail that much farther into the coffin.
Don’t follow these people.
Join forces and turn the ship around.
Trump is doing it for America; you can do it in Oregon.
