Oregonians, Again, Get Out The Gloves
The fight is on.
The governor of Oregon and Democrats in the legislature continue to preach democracy while ripping away from the people they are supposed to serve.
They didn’t learn when they tried to shove the largest tax increase in Oregon history down the throats of the voters.
The governor misread the people when she dragged her feet for a month, holding off on signing the legislation, to keep signature gatherers from having enough time to get the names needed.
Even when a quarter-of-a-million signatures slapped lawmakers in the face, proving the will of the people was and is against the tax, they push on.
I understand Kotek is not from Oregon and spends her time mingling with her like-minded followers.
She has no idea what Oregonians think; she’s never taken the time to ask them.
Now, she and her cohorts are in Salem, in a special session, again, ignoring the will of the people and finding new ways to push this tax on the people.
What she and Democrat lawmakers are afraid of is that if the referendum is placed on the November ballot, voters will see all those names of people who ignored them on the same ballot as the gas tax.
That will be the end of all of them.
Political suicide.
So rather than humble themselves and listen, they dig a deeper hole.
I’m hearing from many in Salem that even Democrat lawmakers are nervous about this push from the Governor’s office.
If it fails, their days in Salem are over.

And if that doesn’t work, Representative Ed Diehl says, the people will take them to court.
