Oregon has done some pretty stupid things, but this one is right up there near the top.
The majority of the Salem City Council appointed a convicted killer to its police review board.
That’s right.
The board that reviews complaints against police.
WTF are you thinking, Salem?
Kyle Hedquist shot Nikki Thrasher in the back of the head in 1994.
The only reason he got out of jail is that former Oregon governor Kate Brown did a mass clemency of criminals as she prepared to end her term as governor.

Salem, if you have any decency at all, you need to get rid of these people.
Councilors Linda Nishioka, Vanessa Nordyke, Micki Varney, Irvin Brown, and Mai Vang voted yes.
I’m sitting here in Montana, my new home, both saddened and embarrassed by what’s happening in my birthplace, Oregon.
I know many of you still live there and hate what is happening to your beautiful state.
The problem in Oregon is, the urban areas, where heartstrings and virtue signalling trump common sense and decency, own the power to control the state. (Yes, I did use Trump)
It’s not fair, but it’s what it is.
The entire state is not crazy, but enough people continue to vote for one party, and this is the kind of crap you get.
We voted to legalize drugs, but that didn’t work.
For 40 years, we’ve voted one party into the executive branch, and that’s been a cluster screw.
The legislative body has no checks, and you can’t even mention the word balance in Oregon.
Oregon’s schools rank 47th out of 50 in terms of education, and you spend more than 19k per student, one of the highest amounts in the nation.
The leaders offer sanctuary to illegals but can’t solve the housing crisis for the taxpaying citizens who call themselves Oregonians.
The governor and supermajority Democratic legislature passed the largest tax in state history and refused to allow Oregonians to vote on it.
You turned on them and collected over a quarter of a million signatures when you only needed 70k plus change.
Oregon is on the rebound.
It really is.
Perhaps God is calling out the idiocy and forcing the idiots (Salem City Council) to look at themselves in the mirror.
The people of Oregon need to wake up.
This is not normal, unless you live in a place like Minnesota.
It all starts at the ballot box.
Who and what you vote for matters.
Yes, if you speak up, speak out, and speak loudly, you will not get applause; you will be belittled by the very people who put folks like this into office.
If you want Oregon back, if you want to clean up the mess of forty years of failed leadership, that’s the cost.
