The Oregon Pickpockets

I’m watching the latest episode of Crazy Oregon News with Bill Lundun and thinking to myself and now out loud, why do people in Oregon put up with this?
I’ve come to the conclusion that many in Oregon just don’t pay attention to politics.
I get it, politics is not everyone’s sport.
But unlike other sports, who wins and who loses in this match is costing you thousands of dollars personally.
Oregon is talking about doubling the gas tax….double.
Don’t you care?
And the reason is to cover its mistakes and missteps and nanny state mentality.
You’ve got a legislature filled with do gooders who can only do good by taxing you to death.
Now I have this vision of people driving the Sunset Highway into Portland to work every day.
They look around and see others scurrying to a job as they worry about their next latte or which farmers market they’re going to grab their sustainable lunch.
They have NO IDEA what the legislature is doing, none.
They know it’s getting more expensive to live in Oregon but figure it’s because they are helping to save the environment, build a better railway (that doesn’t have any riders) and on and on.
You’re being suckered people.
You are being led down a trail of destruction and THEY know, you don’t have a clue what they’re doing.
All they have to do is slap some virtuous, planet saving slogan on a bill and you’ll rationalize the stupidity right out of it.
You are not uneducated people. You should know better and do more research. In fact, the less educated get it. They understand common sense and see through the legislative smokescreen.
You have the least popular governor in the country and the one before got the same award, yet you keep electing people who are destroying Oregon.
You, are being pickpocketed by people whose goal is not a better world but a lust for more power…..and you’re giving it to them.
Find a new source of information. Actually get involved and realize these people are using you to fulfill their wishlist.
You boast about being a sustainable place to live and yet, the bedrock of your state is anything but sustainable. Like California below you and Washington to your North, the left coast is slowing slipping into obscurity.
Oh, and the first people off the ship and throwing you overboard will be the very leaders you keep electing.
