None of this moves me

None of these things moves me.
When ground is lost, the losers go on the attack.
The best way to fight back, sometimes, is to do nothing.
In the heat of the moment, it is difficult to remember that we don’t have to engage.
This is where I have trouble.
How do we stay engaged without becoming enraged?
It is easy to forget we need not avenge ourselves.
Even when the grossest insults are hurled our direction, Romans says, “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves.”
Paul said, “None of these things move me.” he did not say, none of these things hurt me.
Lately, life feels like the video I posted with this blog.
In Montana, rarely do we have days when the clouds hang low, socking us in.
It was an odd day.
The blasting from the haters was more oppressive than normal.
I had two conversations that lifted those clouds a bit.
One was from a woman in Oregon, whose husband is an ICE agent.
She told me what they go through on a daily basis.
The fear they live in.
Their three kids must hide from their friends, their dad’s job.
The ICE haters never talk about those victims.
They have a cause, and to hell with everyone else.
The same people screaming for justice give none to this family or the next.
Then another woman wrote.
An illegal immigrant attacked her.
I don’t know the extent of her trama but it sounded bad.
She knows firsthand what allowing illegal criminals into our country can result in.
Where is her justice?
Silence from the ICE haters.
Their stories remind me of what we are doing by sharing the truth.
But it also reminds me not to throw pearls to swine.
We don’t need to explain ourselves. What good would it do?
If the receiver is turned off, our breath is wasted.
Please serve those who want to be served and address those who raise concerns.
I don’t know who wrote this poem, but it speaks volumes to me.
“Men may misjudge your aim, think they have cause to blame, say, thou art wrong.
Keep on your quiet way.
Christ is the judge, not they.
Fear not, be strong.”
If we could see into the spirit world, we would be shocked by the battle being waged for the souls of man.
Engage or be still, only God knows.
But remember, every question, every accusation, every feeble comment doesn’t deserve an answer.
None of these things move us.
