Can’t Tell The Left From The Right

This comment has shown up regularly in my private messages.
“It’s hard to tell the left from the right anymore.”
I must agree.
I’ve never witnessed anything like it, I mean it.
The switch happened overnight.
The right criticized the left for not asking more questions of the previous administration; now, those same people tell those of us asking questions to shut up and trust the president.
Remember when those of us on the right screamed bloody murder when the Biden administration censored us?
Now, the conservatives complain, saying that I’m being negative as I fight back against the same policies coming from Trump.
Trump was bullied relentlessly by the previous administration and its minions.
We admired him for standing up, fighting on, and doing the opposite.
But now it’s Trump who sounds like the bully.
Someone told me I’m flip-flopping on every issue, which is a lie.
I’ve stayed true to my support for no wars, no regime changes, and putting America first.
Let us spend our money helping the people of our country, not funding Israel.
Trump came up with the slogan “America First”, WTH happened?
It is our president and his die-hard followers who have changed.
One thing that has not changed is our resolve.
When the left beat us down, we stood up and spoke louder.
Remember how you liked that about us?
People who once supported the president and helped get him elected asked a few questions, and our commander and chief went after them to keep them quiet.
Just for the record, that’s a form of censorship.
There, I answered your question.
Now it is the right waving its mighty stick in our faces, and we continue to stand behind what we voted for so long ago.
You see a change in us when the real change is in you.
Why do our questions cause such fear?
They are just questions.
The midterms are just around the corner.
Much of America has soured on both parties.
I still pray the Democrats don’t take back the House and Senate, but the writing is on the wall.
Once again, things were looking up until the conservative side got too big for its britches.
Haughtiness has brought down many a civilization.
The need to control is easily excused when given some moral cover.
Add in a touch of religious overtones, and you’ve got the making of a disaster.
I’m in awe at how many people seem to know God’s will.
It always seems to line up with their way of thinking.
Despite all of this, I still have hope.
I have a grandson now, and I refuse to believe good people will not wake up.
I have little trust in the conservatives, the liberals, or any of our leaders.
My hope is in God and that His plan will be good, even if it means disaster.
