Never Say It’s Over
Many of us who don’t agree with Trump over the Iran war feel a bit let down and defeated.
We’ve gone through president after president who tell us one thing and do another.
I had two women from Washington State on the podcast last night.
Their story turned out to be just what I needed to ease my frustration.
When neighbors in Tri-Cities, Washington, found out by accident that someone had purchased a home in their middle-class neighborhood and planned to house five predatory sex offenders in it, they came unglued.
Not only was this all legal, but they also discovered that some of these men were getting 10k a month in rent, plus money for food, gas, and entertainment.
With the help of a former lawmaker who is also in this interview, they learned where the house's owners lived and took their battle to their neighborhood.
They exposed them online, driving them off social media platforms.
They pushed in the courts and got the house shut down.
This same sort of thing is legal in Oregon as well.
They don’t warn neighbors what’s happening.
Most people are pissed about it, but once the house is designated, they give up.
Not Cathy and Janette.
If you’d like to see the entire interview, you can find it on my YouTube page https://www.youtube.com/live/Q1Z20L3vgXY?si=XiJ0PvVTDc9gl9_t
What’s really bothersome about this to me is that we know we have a sexual predator issue in our country, and yet we pay that kind of money to house these folks after they get out of prison.
We don’t do anything like that for our veterans who fought for our freedom.
We did the same for those in our country who lacked proper documentation.
America needs to get its priorities straight.
We seem to have lost all sense of right and wrong.
What I love most about this story is the righteous indignation of Janette and Cathy.
We can learn a lot from them.
Never give up.
Never stop voicing your concerns.
Never say it’s over.
