Mr President, Listen To Your Critics

Mr President, Please Listen To Your Critics Too

One thing I admire about President Trump is his ability to listen to people with whom he disagrees.

That’s why many others and I who support him, most of the time, were so surprised when, after promising not to go to war, he led the country into this war with Iran.

I’m encouraged by the latest news:

  • President Donald Trump on Friday signaled that an end to the Iran war is fast approaching. “We are getting very close to meeting our objectives as we consider winding down our great Military efforts in the Middle East,” the president said.

  • In addition, oil prices dropped slightly with his announcement that the war’s end could be close.

My take( My Take) on this is the president sees he got bad advice from people who thirst for war. These characters do not share the America First ideology that helped elect the president. These players are both inside and outside our country.

People close to the president say Trump is looking for an exit.

I heard some of the things Trump said about the latest casualty of his administration, Joe Kent, and thought, "That's rude."

Kent and Megyn Kelly, who both know the president well, had a different take.

They said the president’s comment shows how much he really likes Kent, but given the political climate, he had to say something.

That put a different spin on it for me.

While some of you follow the lead of people like Senator Lindsey Graham or podcasters Sean Hannity and Mark Levin, others, such as Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson, and Joe Kent, are speaking out, hoping the president will listen and get out of this war before it’s too late.

I hope that the president is listening to those who disagree with this war. Maybe he’s starting to hear through the noise of those who follow without question.

Maybe he’s watching the Democrats as they keep their mouths shut because they see the damage done to the conservative movement for the midterms.

They quietly cheer in the background as numbers fall.

I know how dangerous Iran is and read the same reports you do about the killings and destruction.

But we also have to look to the future of our own nation, something we seem to forget, it seems.

I doubt Trump or his administration will ever admit a mistake.

I believe if they did, it could truly heal our nation.

But humility and politics don’t seem to be compatible.

I guess, in the end, it doesn’t really matter.

No more bloodshed, please.

Keep the troops off the ground.

Get us out of this war.

If Israel wants this war, let them fight it themselves.

Let’s clean up our own mess here at home before we try to be the police force for the world stage.
