Misplace Trust

Misplaced Trust?

Someone told me to “Get Over It” the other day.

They were referring to my current dilemma with the President’s change of heart when it comes to America First, regime change, and the war with Iran. (my opinion)

It’s eye-opening when one veers from mass thought to the land of what-ifs.

Questioning is encouraged until it’s not.

Propaganda from the left is deplorable, but when it comes from our side, we cozy up to it and try to silence those who ask, “Is this real?”

Bottomline, we don’t really welcome questions.

It’s easier to be led than it is to lead.

What sounds good can be different than what is righteous.

There are a lot of pastors, pundits, and people, so sure they know what’s happening when, if we are truthful, we are guessing. We are putting our trust in our own ability to understand, which, in my case, is a big mistake.

God forbid I write about my disappointment and disillusionment with the administration I once backed 89.3%.

I still think Trump is a great leader and that his heart was in the right place.

He/we were on a roll.

But something changed, almost overnight, and it bugs me.

We disagree, I’m fine with that.

As I sit here this morning, asking God what happened, I am reminded that flesh and blood are fragile.

When a narrative is created that lines up with what we believe, it is easier to trust in a man or an ideology than it is to trust in a creator we believe in, but can’t really see.

My view of what’s happening is also skewed by who I am.

What I know I did wrong was put my trust in a man, a vision, and an outcome that lined up with what I want, not necessarily what God wants.

I read this line out of a book this morning, and it feels like a good way to sum this all up and let you get on with your weekend.

“It is far better for us to learn to trust God than to enjoy life.” “There is no way of learning faith than without trial.”

To purify gold, one must heat the metal up over the hottest fire so that the dross, the impurities, rise to the top and can be scraped off and thrown into the waste pile.

America is undergoing a purification.

What rises to the top is ugly, real, wastful and quite telling.

Brace yourself, God is just getting started.
