Let The Doors Slam Shut

Too many of us are afraid to let the door slam in our face and walk away.

There is something in our nature that wants people to listen.

One of the most important things Jesus tells us in Matthew 10:14 and also in Luke 9:5 is to “Shake the dust off your feet” when leaving a town that rejects your message.

What this means is that you and I are not responsible for the rejection of other people and need to simply walk away and go elsewhere.

I think it’s even deeper than that.

Some people will never hear what you are saying.

The Bible talks about God hardening the hearts and blinding their souls to the truth.

And yet we keep trying to convince people, thinking they will eventually come around.

Coming around is not my job.

God is a door slammer.

If you ask and wait, He will bring people in and out of your life.

We tend to take rejection personally, but perhaps we aren’t the right person to speak the truth into someone’s life, or the timing is wrong; we don’t know.

Many years ago, God revealed to me that I have a certain number of breaths on this earth.

He alone knows the final number.

There are so many of you who listen and want to learn. Why should we take one or two of our breaths and waste them on those who won’t, can’t, or will never see?

Don’t you find it irritating when people try to force their ideas down your throat?

And yet, we find ourselves arguing with people over things they may not be able to see.

Get the facts. Allow God to grace you with discernment. Remember, some people will hate you if you expose the truth.

When all is said and done, if you find they won’t or can’t hear you, shake the dust off your feet and move on.

Stop wasting your breath.

Let the doors slam.
