It’s Between You & God
It’s easy to scroll through the news feed, scratch your head, and think, the world is coming to an end.
Pendulums swing back and forth, historically speaking, but the current movement is erratic.
The conversation is either too far to the left or too far to the right.
There’s no room for middle ground, and if you believe that’s where you are (the middle), the message manipulators will stick you in a corner and try to hold you there until they’ve destroyed you.
Do not let them define you.
You and I alone, with the discernment of our creator, determine what we believe, not some marketing firm or cultural narrative filled with lies and half-truths.
If something doesn’t sit well with you, take it to God, and if you still get a funny feeling, reject it, don’t ignore it.
There’s a great story of an old man who walked around town with a tiny can of oil.
Every time he heard a door or window hinge squeak, he would dab a bit of oil on the mechanism to soothe it.
If a gate was too hard to open, he’d squirt a bit of oil on the hinge to loosen it up.
The people of his village thought he was odd, crazy, cranky, and unbalanced.
What value did he have in spending his life, lubricating the unmovable?
We each have our own can of oil.
It’s not up to our friends and neighbors to tell us how, when, or where to use it.
I recently listened to a podcast about rewiring our brains.
We get stuck in patterns that eventually convince us we are something that we are not.
The brain, according to the experts who study this amazing organ, is rewirable, but it takes effort.
We must understand that our brain will lie to us.
Many of today’s “afflictions” are nothing of the sort, but we must allow God to make that determination and then follow His lead.
The little voices in our heads, dropping accusations into the depths of our souls, simply are not true.
We must question, intentionally, the thoughts our brains present to us all the time.
I’m a guy who senses things before they happen.
My spirit has always been sensitive to changes that way.
Something big is coming, and I don’t know what it is, but I sense it’s going to force each of us to stand up for what is good, righteous, and true.
This is not a cultural consensus of truth but a Godly judgment.
It’s not a right versus left change; it’s a good versus evil scenario.
When culture turns on itself, history shows us, destruction of some sort will follow.
When the sanctity of life doesn’t matter, and lawlessness rules the land, consequences arise, and they are never harmless.
One revealing sign is how we treat the most vulnerable in our society.
Yes, I’m talking about our children.
We have let them down.
We are told to stay near God, and He will guide us.
We are instructed, in His word, not to worry; He has a plan, and it’s a good plan.
But there is no guarantee of the outcome for each of us individually.
In fact, if you see what happened to those who followed God closely, there was always a high price to pay.
Now is the time to renew one’s mind.
Weed out those thoughts that seek to mislead and replace them with the truth.
Make sure your oil can is always filled with the soothing lubricant of our Lord.
Never be afraid to speak or seek the truth.
And when the storms come, be still and know that ONLY He is God.
