Is Vote By Mail A Scam?

Is Vote By Mail The Problem?

On our 'Get Real with Rick Dancer' podcast tonight, we have the chief petitioner behind a drive to eliminate vote-by-mail in Oregon.

If you talk with more conservative voters in the state, they will tell you that vote by mail is the main problem behind the one-sided, super majority held by Democrats for years in Oregon.

I agree that vote-by-mail is a significant issue.

Three years ago, when Kathy and I left Oregon to live in Montana, we once again got to vote at the polling place and loved it.

People here can request a mail ballot, so that folks who can’t get out to vote still get to participate, but for the most part, you show up, show your I.D., and vote in the little booth, like the old days.

For me personally, I think resending vote by mail is a big haul.

I bet if you polled most Oregonians, they’d say they like voting by mail.

I agree, voting by mail is just asking for problems.

Instead, I think conservative Oregonians need to focus on getting out the vote.

In the last election, if all the Republicans who didn’t vote had voted, Oregon would be much more red than it is.

Funding a “get out the vote campaign” would be far more cost-effective than the ad campaign it will take to rescind voting by mail.

I would also create a non-partisan group to redraw state and congressional boundaries.

Democrats have cheated for years.

Just take a look at the rules and then look at the maps, it will flabbergast you.

What tends to happen in Oregon, especially with more conservative voters, is that we get an idea in our head and fight to the bitter end to make it happen. We dump millions into a campaign that was destined to fail, and it fails.

I think if you start with the easiest things to do, get the voters involved, and then go after voting by mail, you could kill it.

And then, go after voter identification.

In Montana, we simply show our ID and sign our name and vote.

Some in Oregon call that racist, but we all know name-calling is the result of knowing your position doesn’t have a leg to stand on.
