Idle Is Not Easy

To Be Idle Is Not Easy

God puts a hedge of protection around his people.
But sometimes that hedge is to keep us in one place until the right moment comes when He opens a new door.
Patience is a virtue. Not many of us are graced with an abundance of it.
We are a culture of doers.
We believe that if we keep moving forward, clarity will come, and the next thing will arrive.
Life in the Kingdom doesn’t work that way.
In Montana, when a storm is building on the horizon, there’s calm that comes first.
It’s a quiet moment just before the winds pick up and the dark clouds move in.
It’s vital that we not allow the storm to unsettle our souls.
We can’t run from the storm, but instead must wait until the Pillar of Clouds moves before we follow.
There is so much going on in our country to unsettle us.
The reflection of that storm often reveals an insecurity from culture and a madness we’ve never seen before.
Right is wrong and wrong is seen as right.
And yet, you and I understand the battle is not of flesh and blood but of principalities and powers of darkness.
This is an unseen war, and rather than running from it, we must stand up to it and not be dismayed.
The world hates the truth.
If the truth is in you, the world will hate you.
Get used to it.
Get over it.
Look how it responded to many of the prophets of the past.
Look at what people said about Jesus and eventually what they did to Him.
And remember, He was innocent.
The enemy of our souls is a liar.
And he’s had thousands of years to perfect his technique.
He twists and turns a tale with just the slightest bit of truth to twist and to corrupt the hearts and souls of those he picks to confuse.
Do not move from the hedge of protection God has given you.
Be smart because only a fool tells all he knows.
Don’t throw pearls before swine; swine fail to recognize the value of what you offer.
And when people don’t listen, shake the dust from your sandals, and when God says move, do so.
