Give Them Their Moment

They Get Their Say

ree

The internet is smothered with coverage of the big birthday party for the President that happens nationwide tomorrow.

I know it’s not really a birthday celebration but it is his birthday and I don’t think Trump gets his feelings hurt over another protest.

It’s irritating when you think about all the things Trump haters said he would do that they are now doing but details don’t make good political spin and his opponents never seem to want to have that conversation.

I know there are some who want to counter protest and that’s your right but I think it’s better just to let these folks have their day and say what they wish, because we know what if feels like to be silenced and we understand nothing good comes from censorship. So, leave it alone. Let them be.

Just because someone says something doesn’t make it true.

You and I already held a monumental protest in favor of freedom of speech and an end to lawlessness, when we voted on November 5th of last year. We protested the past four years of ridiculousness and we won.

Washington DC is a swamp and the more research we do the more slippery, slimy and downright evil we find it to be. It’s not just the Democrats who have fallen under powers spell, it’s the Republicans and the entire bureaucracy.

Trump is doing what we asked him to do.

He’s cracking down on illegal immigration and stirring up DC in a way no one has successfully done before.

Do I agree with all of it, no.

But I’m also not in his shoes and don’t know the intricacies of the swamp.

But things are turning around for the better, at least that’s how you and I see it.

So while some of  our neighbors get their frustrations out on the streets and sidewalks of our communities tomorrow, give them the space they need to release their frustrations.

I only ask of them that they keep it truly peaceful and don’t destroy innocent people’s property or livelihoods.

Make your signs, chant your chants, but don’t stop people from getting to work or living their lives….You have the right to protest but not disturb your neighbors.

For those being paid to protest, shame on you. That’s all.

Kathy and I will choose to celebrate a new era in America by riding mountain bikes in the hills around Sister’s Oregon.

We will thank God people are starting to wake up.

And we’ll thank him for an administration willing to go to bat for what we and a majority of the American people believe is right.

We don’t have to agree but we do need to give each other room to speak.
