Follow The Money

Reading through threads this morning, I see Lane County, Oregon, is about to collapse as it faces major budget problems.
The Springfield School Board meets tonight to start chopping its budget back.
The same story in school districts, counties, and cities all over the state.
The reasons are varied, but if you listen to the voters, these entities did a bad job and continue to fail when it comes to money management.
They continue to choose “feel good” over doing good, and voters have had it.
For Lane County, a recycling project that sounds so sweet to three of the five county commissioners will be one of the biggest failures and cost taxpayers for decades.
But those same three continue to push as they spend tax dollars to appeal decisions because getting their way is more important than cutting bait and moving forward.
Public schools are losing students.
Enrollment is down a combination of people choosing not to have kids, people having fewer children, and dissatisfaction with what’s being taught.
In addition, Oregon schools rank number 47 in terms of educating kids and spending, the last figure I was told, close to $17k a kid.
Mississippi ranks number 4.
I think the biggest problem is that these so-called elected leaders are not listening to the public.
The public doesn’t care about DEI; they want their kids to learn the ABCs.
The average voter probably doesn’t care much about a state-of-the-art recycling facility when they struggle to put food on the table and put gas in their vehicles.
The extreme left used to discuss the Great Reset frequently.
I think it is happening, but not the way they had envisioned.
Their folly, steeped in arrogance, has caught up with them.
Oregon’s governor backpeddles so much, I don’t think she knows a damn thing.
Her legislative minions lick at her heels, passing tax bills that, come November, bite them all in ass as voters check “No” next to their name on the ballot.
I read a verse in the Bible this morning that sums it all up for me.
Proverbs 12:19,20
To turn away from evil is an abomination to fools. He who walks with the wise shall be wise, but the companion of fools suffers evil.
Hold on because this ride is going to be bumpy.
Remind yourself that in the end, good wins over evil.
It’s just this middle part where we have to keep our heads up, our hearts from hardening, and our eyes on Him.
