Buying Into A Lie

It’s no surprise waking up to see New York City has a socialist mayor, and Democrats took two important governor seats.
What America never seems quite to understand is that there is a cost for ignorance.
We also, as a whole, fail to comprehend that signalling virtue is really just selfishness.
We want to feel good, not pay the costly price, actually to do something.
Socialism always fails, period.
Socialists can make excuses, but the results prove them wrong.
Government doesn’t get things done; private investors do.
Drive them away, your system will fail.
They talk of raising the minimum wage.
Do that and people lose jobs.
In addition, all customers will pay more for the products they need.
You can say it won’t happen, but your wish does not result in the truth.
History tattles on your foundationless facts.
They speak of a rent freeze, oh, that’s a good idea.
We already have an affordable housing crisis in our country.
In other places where this has been tried, rather than adding to the rental pool, construction of housing drops dramatically.
Just what we need, a bigger shortage of affordable housing.
It’s mindboggling how naive people can be.
I listen to man-on-the-street questions, scratch my head, and think, “How can they be this ignorant?”
One after the other, those asked why they support socialist ideas regurgitate the slogans of inexperienced politicians who care more about how they look and how they sound than they do about sound policies.
We as a society pay a price for stupidity.
Unfortunately, in this case, we will pay for the ignorance of others who fail to face the facts and do their homework.
There is truth, and truth does matter.
Truth doesn’t flatter or favor any group of people.
But truth is found only by those who do the work it takes to search for it.
False doctrine is easy to create, especially when it titillates more than agitates.
I crack open my truth meter this morning to anchor myself to something foundational.
In it, I read these words that give me hope.
“They are not of the world, as I am not of the world. Set them apart in Your truth. Your word is truth.” “And for them I set myself apart, so that they too might be set apart in truth.”
The truth sets us free.
But we must seek truth in the right places, not some socialist fairytale that has yet to prove itself.
My parents used to say, “If it sounds too good, it probably isn’t real.”
This morning, we awaken to a false reality that will bring down a city and confuse our nation.
Here is an excellent report from one of the last journalists on the planet.
Take a look when you have a minute.
I’m afraid a difficult lesson is on the horizon.
People are like sheep, following what sounds easy, rather than putting in the hard work to find the truth.
