Are We There Yet?

Are We There Yet?

We endure many things we don’t need to survive.

We tend to look at what’s right in front of us and take it at face value.

Behind these difficult moments, misunderstandings, and lies is an unseen world doing its best to torment us.

Do you ever wake up with the thought, “I just can’t do this today?”

I have those moments.

Perhaps someone lets us down, the workload becomes too much, or we don’t have the mental energy to fight, at least not today.

It’s okay to step back for a moment.

Like a storm, we must navigate mind and spirit to the center, where the calm is found.

The worst thing to do is try to escape to the outer edges.

That’s where Hell resides.

The world is filled with chaos.

Nothing makes sense anymore.

I was recently at the Montana Folk Festival in Butte, Montana.

An 80-year-old gospel singer sang the words that circulate in my head this morning.

The song is about the end times.

Over and over, she chanted, “When right is wrong and wrong is right.”

We are there.

Not necessarily the end of time, but to a place where chaos tries to impose order on culture, and nothing makes sense.

These are the moments we must dig deeper.

We don’t have to understand the why; we must remind ourselves that God is in control and this is all part of His plan.

In moments like this, my soul must retreat to the wilderness.

Moses, Jesus, and many other spiritual leaders of the past and present go to the mountains to experience God.

If we can get above the clouds and fog, a clearer view is easier to find.

In my own life, I know a cluttered soul is a restless one.

Restlessness and worry take away my superpower.

Are we there yet?

No, but we’re close.

Be still and know that He is God.
