American Values, Really?

American Values?

Kathy just read a news story about the amount of money being dumped into Senate races this year.

The number that sticks out the most was something like 79 million dollars in one race in Ohio.

Let that sink in.

79 million dollars.

These same politicians talk about government waste, shutting down the government over a lack of money, and claim to want to do what’s right to put the people back in charge.

Liars.

Now our President writes this on a Truth Social post this morning about the war.

“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don't want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. Years of extortion, corruption, and death will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!”

Does that concern anybody else?

Year after year, we watch unions and big corporations pour money into political races, hoping to gain power and get the “right person” elected, and yet the swamp in D.C. is never cleaned up, the party in power just polishes the exterior while the interior eats itself up.

Last night, Kathy and I went to dinner in Richland, Washington.

A young couple, with a six-month-old boy, sat next to us.

We struck up a conversation that lasted, off and on, our entire meal.

There was something about them we couldn’t shake.

You could see an innocence in their demeanor that you don’t find in many people.

Before they ate their meal, we saw them stop and pray.

The conversation got really personal, and more happened that doesn’t need to be told, but we felt a connection to these three people.

Like many young families in this country, they are struggling.

They live with his parents, she stays home with the little boy, and he is waiting to hear back about a new job.

They had so much hope, but why?

While our lawmakers misuse our tax dollars and manipulators dump millions into campaigns that lead nowhere, here is this young family, trying to make the world a better place.

We are told to put our faith in one man, Jesus, and yet we vote as if a politician really can or will change the world.

This morning, as I see what our president is saying and how we teeter on the edge of a world war, I wonder what God thinks?

Will He put a chokehold on the blessings our country has enjoyed for 250 years?

As the morals in our nation dwindle, is He about to expose us to the world and to ourselves?

We walked out of the restaurant and around the back.

There they were, standing by their table, praying.

We said we’ll talk with you guys later.

They said, “ Thank you so much, we were just praying for you guys.

American Values.
