A New American Value? Hardly

New American Values? Hardly

ree

Remember, not that long ago, when people disagreed, but no one would ever think of publicly making a death threat against their opponent?

Remember when the voting public actually drew a line at threats, and if something like that broke out in a headline, that would be the end of that candidate’s political life?

Virginia elected an attorney general, who wrote texts stating how he’d like to see his Republican colleague shot in the head and his family murdered too. It gets worse, but let’s leave it there.

Voters knew but elected him anyway.

WTH?

In Helena, Montana, a candidate for city commission made a death threat to Senator Tim Sheehy and all but destroyed the business she was working for. Fortunately, the voters in Helena rejected Haley McKnight and kicked her to the curb.

The first thing that comes to my mind is why do these people think it’s okay to threaten someone with MURDER, anyone, because they disagree with their policies?

That is an evil so infectious that we should all be concerned.

During COVID, I was outspoken about the handling of the pandemic.

I never had a death threat, but people who disagreed with me did write to tell me they hoped my wife and my kids would get COVID and die.

When did our morals get so loosey-goosey that death threats became this blatant and now normalized?

Hate seems to be okay as long as it’s aimed at anyone or anything to do with Trump or the Right.

Despite all of that, I still have hope.

I get letters, emails, and comments that show the goodness in Americans.

People fighting from behind the curtain, exposing the truth and fighting for justice.

Where America failed yesterday was in turnout.

We allowed apathy to win.

Hundreds of thousands of eligible Republican voters in New York, New Jersey, and Virginia stayed home and didn’t vote.

It will be interesting to see how New York City’s experiment with socialism works.

Socialism has never worked, anywhere.

Those who tell you different are blinded by their bias or false hope fed to them by ignorance.

Maybe it will be different this time, but I wouldn’t hold my breath unless blue is your color.

This morning, my email is flooded with people ready to talk publicly about corruption in their school district, their city, and their workplaces.

The results of yesterday’s election jolted them into action.

I am convinced this is a battle for morality. A return to the true Christian values this country was founded on, not a socialist wish list or watered-down ideology that has no firm foundation.

Zohran Mamdani promises free this and that, taxing the rich, all the usual bullshit that attacks one class of people, the rich, and gives to the poor.

It’s an old story that fails to look at the big picture.

People are already packing up and leaving NYC.

The ripple of stupidity will be felt all over our country.

They will call us new names for resisting and calling them out.

For now, please don’t freak out, sit back, and watch as the truth exposes their folly.

Be still and know who is truly God.
