Grizzly Perspective Plus Homework
Truth About Timber
Oregon has it’s spotted own in Montana it’s the Grizzly Bear.
Kathy and I are in Whitefish Montana producing videos on the Grizzly and how lack of proper forest management on the public lands is creating a problem for the bear and the timber industry.
It’s not the best time of year to be shooting video outside, five to six inches of snow forecast for tonight and tomorrow, but when you live in Montana, you suck it up and shoot.
Whitefish is a lot like Bend, Oregon. Kathy and I love to come here to get a fresh perspective on life. There are all kinds of cool little shops, restaurants, pubs and coffee shops, something our area doesn’t have a lot of.
I will use file video of the bear, because they are sleeping right now hahaha, plus I don’t really want to get live video of a bear. We’re interviewing folks who used to work for the forest service, timber folks and others to show how many believe the bear should be delisted from the endangered species list because they believe there are already enough bears. We’ll visit a town way up north called Libby where the bears are making their way into the community because the mismanagement of the forests is actually pushing them down from where they would normally be.
One of the things you learn doing the job that I do is how much people today want to be told what to think and do and how many refuse to do their homework.
Some people call it common sense but I don’t think sense is common at all it’s something you have to work at.
So many of today’s issues, whether the Grizzly Bear or the Spotted Owl, come down to doing your own personal research.
Environmental groups use creatures like these to raise money for the cause.
Do I sound cynical? That’s my common sense kicking in.
On some level I think they care but they forget there are other perspectives and they use the courts to squelch all the other voices.
They are like three olds who want their way and will scream, kick and even destroy the very things they say they care about, to win.
They throw out nuggets to get us in the land of “Feeling Sorry” and instantly a narrative is created and those who choose bleeding heart over science and facts are off to the races.
Same thing happens with homelessness, immigration and on and on. When you dig down you discover the groups behind these things make money off the cause.
If we really did solve some of these problems, with common sense approaches, the money would dry up so think about that and let it sink in.
Hopefully, this new administration will show us how to use our voice to Make America Do Homework Again.
Let’s face it, we’ve gotten lazy.
It’s much easier to do little and feel good about ourselves and our popular views than it is to go against the grain, look it up ourselves and actually have to get our hands dirty.
